Stock Art F.A.Q.
Can I make a comp with these images? Please ask first. I like to know what use my work is being put to, and I reserve the right to withhold permission. That way, potentially competing users are protected.
How is the art priced? If you are new to the world of buying commissioned or illustrator-direct artwork, a good source for pricing help is the Graphic Artists Guild's Handbook of Pricing and Ethical Guidelines.
Pricing is dependent on usage...meaning that fees depend on what use the art will be put to. Factors to consider: time period covered, market size, the image's importance to the project, interior art or cover use. If you supply the details, I'll be happy to give you an estimate ASAP.
What About Customization? Modifications that improve the art for your use are possible. Sometimes easy, sometimes less so. Any piece of art shown here can be modified to suit your needs. Pull out a detail, change an expression, add a computer. Just ask me!
How may I purchase the right to use an image? Each page showing an image of available art also tells the source and source code. If the artwork is available through SIS or TheIspot, they have the exclusive rights to license it's use.
To purchase images from Stock Illustration Source, contact SIS directly at 212-9849-2900 referencing the code number. To purchase an image located on TheIspot Stock Site or direct from Joe VanDerBos Illustration, contact me via email referencing the code number. I will fax you an agreement to sign and fax back, then I will deliver the artwork, or instruct TheIspot to do so. Easy!
When, and how fast can I get it delivered? Delivery is free via email attachments. Buyer pays actual shipping costs for overnight artwork on CD-rom or Zip disks. Delivery may be same day, or next day, depending on return of faxed agreement.
What payment methods do you accept? Qualified buyers will be invoiced upon return of a signed agreement. Payment is due upon receipt of artwork. A 1.5% per month finance charge is billed on all orders still payable after 15 days. 5% discount on orders purchase thru PayPal.com.
