| NEWSBLIP: What's New at Joe VanDerBos Illustration:
Spring 2003 --> BEACHBUOY TYPEFACE READY TO GO. I recently completed Beachbuoy, a type family in 3 weights. It was inspired by a trip to Kauai in 2002 and has traveled a long, winding route from inspiration to end result. See samples and download a specimen PDF at: http://www.joevanderbos.com/frametype.html As with my other fonts, it's available at Myfonts.com: http://www.myfonts.com/browse/foundry/joevanderbos/ --> HOW OTHER CREATIVES USE THE INTERNET Last fall, I wrote an article for the Graphic Artists Guild News about how designers and illustrators are using the Internet to promote business and improve customer relations. It's a snapshot, not a comprehensive overview. You may find the ideas useful. I really enjoyed putting it together, and learned a lot in the process. All my thanks go to the interviewees, and to Susan E. Davis for editing. http://www.joevanderbos.com/about/webarticle_1.php --> (Everything but the) KITCHEN SINK ART
Can an illustration with a baby in a crib, a chemistry beaker, a place setting, and a jet airplane find happiness on the cover of Buffalo State University's Magazine? Yes, I think. See what you think: --> THANK YOU FOR KICKING OFF 2003 WITH WONDERFUL ASSIGNMENTS:
